If you have been keeping up to date with my snapchat or instagram (both @petiteelliee) then you will know that I was in Exeter this weekend for a little trip away with my family. While we were there the weather was rather on and off, but on Sunday morning we took a gorgeous walk along Exmouth beach. It was such a perfect walk, with the sun making a small appearance and it was so lovely and warm. Its finally feeling lie summer is on its way and I am SO DARN READY FOR THE SUN!
We were actually staying in a hotel in Exeter, which was quite central. So it was just a short drive down to Exmouth to find the sea. So we took a lovely family trip down to the beach to enjoy a morning there. The stretch of beach there is so vast and so long, it was gorgeous! Also, I love how it was sand and not just pebbles (because England seriously needs to sort out its pebbled beaches) I know that if I lived there I would just permanently be down at the beach, running or just lapping up the salty air. There were so many dog walkers and I met the cutest little Scottish terrier, I think I fell in love….
So for my beach outfit, I decided to go for something a little warm but layer it so I can easily strip if I get too hot.
The cardigan I am wearing is from H&M and I am so in love with it. It’s a chunky knit, so keeps me nice and warm when there is a little breeze but it’s the kind of knit that is very breathable. So it’s perfect for spring. I love how its monochrome, because you know that I love that monochrome life when it comes to clothes. But its pattern is so jazzy, it’s just so funky!!I love my little grey tee from Dorothy Perkins. It is just so cozy and baggy that it goes with anything. You know how obsessed with grey tees at the moment, so don’t be surprised if every outfit post in future features a grey tee. For comfort reasons, I went for plain black leggings. You can get these anywhere basically, but I really like Bohoo for leggings because they do such a collection. For shoes, I am wearing my fave Nike trainers. They are so comfy and go with so many outfits. I also found that they were perfect for the beach, as they were quite high it meant that I didn’t get any stray sand coming into my feet.
I had such a good time in Exter, climbing the cliff to see the perfect beach below and walking down the high street and seeing the gorgeous shops. Its has the prettiest little cafes, patisseries and pubs that we could enjoy. I really want to go back soon, and hope to make another weekend visit to the gorgeous city of Exeter.
