How To Prep For The Black Friday Sales

The Black Friday sales are almost upon us, meaning that we’re one day closer to the biggest shopping week of the year. Starting on the 23rd of November, this year’s Cyber Week is going to be the biggest, savviest, most exciting sales week ever!

If you haven’t yet seen my blogpost on what Cyber Week actually is and you’re sitting here thinking okay that’s great but I don’t even know what tf this sale week you’re talking about actually is – then you can catch up HERE.

To say that Cyber Week is an overwhelming time is an UNDERSTATEMENT – with discounts being thrown at you left right and centre, retailers offering discounts earlier and earlier and the temptation to impulse buy every deal you see.

To help a little with the overwhelm and stop you from making the same Cyber Week mistakes I’ve made in the past, I thought that I would compile a little preparation list to help you get ready for the sales.

Plan Ahead

The biggest mistake you can make when it comes to the sales is not planning ahead. Discounts, deals and frenzied sales can all build to create the perfect storm – an impulse buy. There’s nothing worse than buyer’s regret after Black Friday and I promise that if you don’t plan what you are looking for in the sales, you’ll be kicking yourself down the line.

It also really helps to plan ahead so you can keep an eye on the items you are after so that you don’t miss out in case they sell out – nothing worse than missing the one item you had your eye on!

Budget, Budget, Budget

One thing I can NEVER stress enough is to budget before hand. I promise you that no bag, belt, purse or car is worth going into credit card debt. One rule I’ve heard before is that if you can’t afford it 3X over, you can’t afford it at all.

Working through your budget and making sure that you stick to it is vital during the frenzied week of sales.

Plan Your Week

Now that we don’t have the choice to go in store, all of the sales are going to be happening online. To make sure websites don’t crash, retailers are going to be spreading out their sales throughout the entire week. Don’t make the mistake of thinking that Black Friday is the only (or the best) day to shop the sales, chances are it’s going to be the busiest, most stressful day of the week. Plan your week and know that when something goes into sale, chances are that’s the lowest price you’ll get it at.

Know Where To Shop

I know how overwhelming the discount codes being thrown at you can be. That’s why I’m going to be creating a one-stop-shop for all the daily deals and discount codes. Make sure you bookmark the post and you can come back to it every day to get all the info on that day’s best deals.
