Happy Valentine’s Day

Happy Valentine’s Day my lovelies. Today is the day of love and happiness and showing the one you love how much you love them. And it had me thinking, why is it that today is the only day of the year where it’s okay to be soppy? PDA is seen as cute and not vom-worthy. Flowers are expected and restaurants are fully booked.

It’s odd how much we have come into an age where we prefer to be cold or aloof. An age where being in love is seen as childish and naive. An age where single life is celebrated and relationships are frowned upon. Why is that?

I won’t lie, I’ve always been the kind of person to HATE PDA. Whenever I saw couples cuddling, kissing your holding hands I would roll my eyes and think ‘get a room’. Whenever someone wanted to kiss me in public I ran screaming. Often hurting feelings and making things awkward. But I just hated it. I felt like I would be judged and eye-rolled at and just didn’t want that.

So I think it’s about time that we change that stigma. It’s about time that we stop hiding our feelings and putting on a face. It’s about time that we scream and shout our love from the roof tops!

As well as taking the time today to tell the person you love how much they mean to you. But let’s make a change and show them how much you love them every day of the year.
