2018 Goals- The Year Of Being Me

I love the time of year. Its the time when everything is coming to a close and new prospects are exciting us. December is such a beautiful month spent with friends and family, and after that we have the newness of January. All the new goals we set ourselves. All the hopes we have for the next year. And not only that, but I love how thankful and reflective people are at this time. We all love spending a bit of time just looking back on the past year and seeing how far we have come. Seeing what the year taught us and how we grew. I certainly grew through 2017, hell I think it was probably the toughest year I have ever had to endure and I have grown SO MUCH through it! I am, in a way, grateful for everything that happened to me this year because it has shaped me as a person and made me who I am.

And I want to be able to look ahead at the new year and set myself some goals. I want 2018 to be the best year possible; the year that I am unapologetically me.

1- Stop apologising

One of my main goals in 2018 is to stop saying sorry so much. I say it ALL THE TIME; ‘sorry for being late,’ ‘sorry for being annoying,’ ‘sorry for being needy.’ I NEED TO STOP. Instead of saying sorry, I need to say thank you; ‘thank you for waiting,’ ‘thank you for putting up for me,’ ‘thank you for being there for me.’ Having a more negative view on things is so unhealthy and all I seem to be doing is reflecting that on people. Instead I want a more positive way of looking at the things people do for me.

2- Get back into my fitness

Sport is a huge part of my life and something I really enjoy doing. But recently (partially due to the op) I have just completely fallen off the band wagon! I really want to be able to get back into the gym and improve my fitness so that I am a healthier me.

3- Post on instagram less

Okay this might seem really odd, but I am that person that really stresses over not putting enough content out there on my instagram, which results in me posting in something that I am not proud of- not good. So instead I want to post less and be more proud of what it is I am sharing. Which leads me onto my next point…

4- Put my heart and soul into everything I share

Something that I really want to work on is my content and the quality of it. I want to put in more time and effort into my posts, my photography and my outfits. I want to focus so much more on posting less content, but making it so much better. From now on, nothing is going onto my feed unless I am 110% proud of it.

5- Show the people that I love them more

I never feel like I appreciate people enough. I want to be able to show the people that I love just how much they mean to me. Simple, but important.

6- Realise that the people who matter dont mind, and the people who mind dont matter

This past year has taught me so much about friendships and I feel like I have really grown in accepting that. I want to be able to work on it more though. I want to be able to accept that sometimes a friendship isn’t meant to be. And I am lucky enough to have (very few) people who are there for me no matter what. So I want to focus more on those who are there, rather than those you couldnt give a flying f***.

7- Accept myself

In 2018, I want to be able to accept myself more. I want this next year to be the year when I put my middle finger up to anything that isn’t me and anyone who doesn’t accept me. 2018 is the year of being unapologetically me.
