The Life Lesson’s I’ve Recently Learnt

As we go through life, we are always growing, evolving and learning new things. Whether you have had a major life change or just a series of small events, they all teach you something in their own way. Recently I feel like I have learnt a hell of a lot and had some rather big life lessons been thrown at me. And although when you’re in the midst of the struggle, it can really suck, when you come through the other side I always feel like a better person for it, or at least a wiser person. So here are the things that I have learnt recently.

You Are The Only Person Who Can State Your Worth

Recently I have really had to learn my worth. And that is a pretty scary journey. I think knowing your worth and ensuring that you are treated right is a learn-as-you-go job and definitely look a while of being taken for granted for me to realise just how I deserved to be treated. Whether that’s in a relationship, friendship, or in the office, you are the only person who can state your worth. And hey, if they arent treating you how you deserve to be, its okay to walk away.

It’s Okay to Walk Away

Another life lesson that I have learnt in the past few weeks is that it is okay to walk away. I have been raised to not fold easily and stick through with something. But there comes a point where you simply cannot cope anymore and need to walk away. And that’s okay.

Organisation is Key

When it comes to my life, I cannot cope without planning, prepping and organising my days. I have let my organisational skills slip a little recently and MY GOODNESS did my time go to poop. So I have really learnt the importance of organising and staying on top of work.

Don’t Waste Your Words On People Who Deserve Your Silence

I am a person who speaks her mind. If I disagree with something, you’ll know. If I am unhappy, you’ll know. But there are times when, actually, your most powerful tool is your silence. I have had some difficult experiences recently with people who I have learnt now to give them my silence. Rising to their words is just a waste of my time, and my breath. So they can have what they deserve; my silence.

Not Everyone in Your Boat Is Rowing

Knowing your circle, and who has your back is such an important thing to me. I am so selective about who is in my boat, and if they aren’t rowing, or if they are secretly burrowing holes, they really are not worth your time, your effort or your friendship.

Although I have had a tough few months recently, I am so proud of myself for getting through them. And not only that, but I have learnt so much from the experiences and have come out stronger the other side.
