Being a ‘queen’ is a term that is thrown around a lot in this modern day. But what does it actually mean? Obviously we aren’t going to have a riot in Buckingham Palace, fight Liz and take our own place as queenie. No.
So what does it actually mean to be a queen? Well according to Urban Dictionary, a queen is ‘A bomb-ass female. The baddest female. She is loyal to her friends, lives for her family, and gives no fucks to bitter, petty bitches.’ And I kinda like that definition. But what I wanted to do was talk about what being a queen means to me and how I think we are all queens.
Firstly, being a queen doesn’t mean that you have to turn into some ghetto, bad-girl. In all honesty, I think that being a queen is simply being a strong and independent women. I think that girls are amazing. We bleed once a month, we create another human inside of us, we deal with stereotypes and prejudice, we stand together and fight for what we believe in AND we do it all in heels (well maybe not the pregnancy thing- yikes!)
With valentines day coming up, a lot of girls question their self worth, especially if they are single. But I want to put a stop to that. Why should one silly little holiday make you feel bad about yourself? I mean I am being rather hypocritical here seeing as I have a boyfriend. But I have had MANY a valentines day single AF and it has never once made me feel bad about myself. Because having a man does not define me, And having a valentine does not define me either. But you know what does define me? How I treat myself.
We all need to start realising that we are strong. We are independent and we are invincible.
So treat yourself this valentines day. I am symbolising my strength and how this year I am choosing to be a QUEEN with the Pandora tiara ring. What about you?
Also a MASSIVE thank you to Pandora for sending me this ring and inspiring me to write this post. This blogpost is in no way sponsored and I am so grateful to Pandora for their generous gift.
