August Faves

I know that literally everyone starts this when they upload a favourite, but I don’t usually so I feel I have this right…. How is it already September?!?!

It feels like just yesterday I was celebrating the end of exams and planning my trips away. Now suddenly they’ve all happened and in a weeks time I will be off to uni (whaaaat no no no). August was such a good month for me and was quite an experimental month so I’ve got a few things that I have been LOVING and using religiously to share with you.

Let’s start with hair; I am sure you all know this brand and have seen me talk about this product in a previous post but I have been obsessing over the Bardou dry shampoo. It’s the best dry shampoo I have ever used hands down (and that’s a bold claim) and I couldn’t imagine going back to Batiste. I actually am in partnership with Bardou (which makes loving the dry shampoo even better) so if you want to nab yourself 10% off this bad boy and their other products. Just use the code ‘Ellie10’ at the check out!

But seriously, this is the only dry shampoo I use now. It never leaves white marks in my hair, it smells great AND it gives me volume. What more do I need in life?!

Next is a recent find for me but one that I haven’t stopped using since u bought it. It’s the Benefit Gimme Brow and it is just amazing. I have been using powder brow products for a while but I just didn’t feel like they were working for me. So i thought that I would switch it up a little and I havent used anything else since. It does such a good job at filling in the sparse bits of your brows and if you are like me and are cursed with short brows, you can elongate them and it just looks like a natural brow. LOVE IT.

You know me and a good face mask. LOVE a good face mask. So when I saw the launch of the Loreal face masks I was like MINE! I picked up the green one which is supposed to be purifying (which these stupid time of the month spots need). I love it so much!! It’s the best drugstore face mask I have ever used. I must admit that it’s not much compared to the Liz Earle deep cleansing mask but now that I’m on a uni budget mamma ain’t got time for Liz Earle (sob). So finding a new drugstore face mask was top of my priorities and I am so glad that I found this one. So well done Loreal!

Next item will be no surprise to you…. It’s the NYX lip lingerie. Ohhhhh my is it amazing!! It doesn’t feel like anything is on your lips and lasts for soooo long. Tbh I feel like I could have added 20 liquid lipsticks to this favourites because I am just LOVING them at the minute and I feel like the liquid lipstick game has changed makeup forever.

Now I know this is a little old in the makeup world but it’s a new discovery and love for me this month- it’s the Tanya Bure eyeshadow palette and its the Hollywood eye palette IT. IS. STUNNING I cannot even describe to you how often I have worn this out. The shades are gorgeous for inner eye, crease and base but also THAT GLITTER SHADE. I DIE. I DIE!!!! You would not believe the pigmentation on that thing (you would also not believe the fall out but we can live with that sacrifice). I am so obsessed and wouldn’t be surprised if I hit pan soon.

Of course we couldn’t not have a Zoella beauty product in the mix so here is her body cream that I have been lathering on daily. It’s gorgeously thick and creamy and, let me tell you, a little goes a long way! I love using the moisturiser when I get out of the shower because it soaks up so quickly and i can smell it on my skin hours after I’ve applied it!

If you’ve been following me for a while you’ll know that I swore by the Urban Decay setting spray. Well mine ran out this month and after grieving for a good few days I had to get myself a new alternative. I had heard good things about the Loreal infallible fixing spray so I though that I would give it a go and I’m so glad that I did! It’s such a good dupe for the Urban Decay spray and keeps my makeup on all day. It’s not drying on my skin like a lot of fixing sprays and smells nice too. All in all I am in love with this fixing spray and am already a quarter of the way through the bottle.

Last but not least is infamous in the blogging world. It’s the chanel Soleil Tan De Chanel and OH MY FRICKING WORD WHY DID I NOT HAVE THIS IN MY LIFE BEFORE?!?! I only picked it up when I was in Paris because I caved after my cousin told me how in love with it she was. The shade is amazing and so warming on the skin. You do have to be careful not to overdo it because you will look orange. But as long as you have a light hand and apply it in the outer section of your face, you will look like you just got the best tan ever.
